Building a McLaren 675LT is already special, but this project took over 1,000 hours from McLaren Special Operations (MSO).

One customer reached out to MSO for a truly bespoke McLaren 675LT, opting for a Gulf Racing exterior color scheme that pays tribute to the 1997 Gulf-Davidoff GTC team McLaren F1 GTR Longtail. The project was undertaken with agreement from Gulf Oil International Ltd., to ensure its famous livery could be used. The British automaker said the paintwork, including airbrushing, accounted for 800 hours of labor.

Further accenting the Gulf Racing theme are 20-inch wheels finished in Dayglo Orange. The bright orange shade can also be found on the sill badges that feature the customer’s initials. In addition, the 675LT has been fitted with louvered front wings, roof scoop upgrade, and carbon fiber airbrake – all featuring body color paint.

The customization continues inside the cabin, with MSO Bespoke racing seats finished in Carbon Black Alcantara with orange and blue contrast stitching. Again, the initials of the owner can be found inside the cabin, this time embroidered in blue on the headrests. Minor accents include orange seat belts, Gulf Blue handling and powertrain bezels on the Active Dynamics Panel, and Gulf Orange vent bezel surrounds and stop/start surround.

“Creating a car like this unique McLaren 675LT, crafted to individual customer specification, is exactly the type of demanding commission that MSO Bespoke was formed to embrace,” explained Ansar Ali, Managing Director, McLaren Special Operations. “Transforming the existing car from its original single colour paintwork to a tribute to the McLaren F1 GTR ‘Longtail’ in Gulf Racing livery was incredibly demanding in its own right, but was only part of the brief; we also replaced numerous standard 675LT components with MSO parts and further personalised the car to clearly identify it with its owner, a service that an increasing number of MSO customers request.”
